Kohoutek
Sabrina Kohoutek has been an avid horse lover and rider for more
than twenty-five years. While she grew up on a horse, it
wasn’t until she attended Cal Poly Pomona for Pre-Veterinary
Medicine, that she knew caring for horses was her chosen path in
life.
During her time on the Cal Poly Pomona Equestrian Team, Sabrina
traveled and competed against other universities in show jumping
and hunter pleasure classes. After College, she
transitioned into the exhilarating world of endurance riding
where the need for peak physical fitness of both horse and rider
was intense. While she loved competing, she recognized the
physical toll it took, not just on her, but on her horses as
well. To help her best friends recover, Sabrina used a
technique she knew was effective: massage. Thanks to
massage and good horse management, she competed consistently
with no injuries and her horses always ended the rides in great
condition.
Thanks to
discovering the book “Beating Muscle Injuries for Horses” by
Jack Meagher, Sabrina has used the power of massage on her own
horses for nearly 20 years with amazing results. Her continued
passion in exploring this alternative treatment lead Sabrina to
Mary
Schreiber, one of the leading experts in a sports massage
technique known better as Equissage.
Under
Mary’s teachings and guidance, Sabrina became a certified Sports
Massage Therapist and later an Equissage Certified Instructor.
She was hand picked to expand Mary’s Equine Sports Massage
Therapy Certification program here in Colorful Colorado.
Sabrina
has enjoyed spreading the teachings of Equissage and has gained
immense joy watching horses thrive as a result of this extremely
effective therapy. Local Veterinarians, Equine
Chiropractors, and Farriers have all commended Sabrina’s
therapy, saying it’s been a great compliment to their more
traditional western treatments.
